Small or Big Wedding in Los Angeles?

Are you debating between a small of big wedding in Los Angeles? Whether you're having an extravagant ceremony with 500 guests or an intimate backyard wedding, there are pros and cons to the amount of attendees.

Let’s first take a look at larger weddings. If your plan is for a big wedding, there’s no reason to agonize over whether to invite your second-cousin you don’t see that often or that sorority sister you haven’t spoken to in a few months. You can make everyone happy, but it doesn't come without a cost. Guests equal money - so make sure you have room in your budget to feed and host all your wonderful guests!

It’s obvious that the more people invited, the more gifts you’ll receive. If you’re just moving into a new place or are getting married young, odds are you may need a few things. The more people invited to your wedding, the better your chances of receiving many of the little necessities that can start to add up if purchased on your own.

One huge piece of advice, if you're going for a big wedding, you're going to need lots of help. Don’t skip out on a wedding planner to make sure everything runs smoothly.

All in all, the more the merrier. You will definitely have a day to remember having everyone you love in one place!

Now let's talk about small weddings, or “intimate” weddings as they are called. The immediate pro? You'll be saving some cash. The planning will ultimately be a lot easier, and you will get to spend more time with each guest as opposed to running around making sure everyone got some time.

But the smaller guest list might not come easy to all, and not everyone who wants to come celebrate wont make the cut. Make sure you and your partner are on the same page about invites, and stick to your list. You can read more about who gets invited to the wedding here!

You’ll also have access to more venue choices, since you won't be limited by any max capacity issues.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling when your wedding day arrives. Whether you decide on a big or small celebration, making a lifelong commitment to one another and sharing the experience with your family and friends is guaranteed to be special!

A Gatsby Style Wedding at Millwick in Los Angeles

livelovecreateevents_gatsbystylewedding1.jpg

Teresa and Michal celebrated their Gatsby style wedding at Millwick in Los Angeles, surrounded by their favorite people. The couple met at a mutual friend’s out of state wedding and since then continued their long distance romance, that eventually led them to this special day.

We first came in contact with Teresa when she found our main event planner, Christine, through Instagram. Teresa and Michal’s vision was such an old school, classic vibe. They wanted to use bold red and green colors, which stood out beautifully against all the white. Rarely do couples choose to go the bold color route for their wedding, but after seeing Teresa and Michal’s wedding photos, we’re sure you’re going to want to do the same! This entire wedding screams true romance, which is what all couples hope for on their wedding day.

One of the most creative people our team has ever met is the bride. She came up with the genius idea of purchasing marble titles from a hardware store and turned each piece into a magnet. She then had her dear friend write out her guests names in calligraphy on each individual piece. Our main event planner, Christine, still has her name card magnet on her fridge!

Some other special parts of Teresa and Michal’s wedding was that their dear friend married them and majority of the vendors were close friends! They even decided not to have a wedding party and instead, Teresa’s brother stood beside her at the altar. So many sentimental parts to this wedding. That’s what it’s all about. Yes, the beautiful decor and amazing reception is great, but at the end of the day, it’s all the special people that surround you on this unforgettable day that matter the most.

Enjoy these epic photos captured elegantly by Stanford Creative.

A Rustic Fairytale Wedding at the Carondelet House

Anthony and Suzie’s rustic fairytale wedding at the Carondelet House was one for the books! Our team had such a blast working with them! This couple sure knows how to have a good time. This wasn’t the typical sit down, eat dinner, and slow dance kind of wedding. This was an everyone take a shot and do the dance train type of wedding!

Our team got to meet Anthony through friends of friends. Quickly we saw how much of a free-spirit Anthony was and his bride-to-be was equally amazing! We wish them a lifetime of love, laughs, and happiness.
