How To Set Your Wedding Budget: Part One

March 7, 2022 Christine S. Chang

It’s so important to set your wedding budget before you start officially planning your big day. Hopefully you have already discussed the vision for your big day with your partner and set realistic wedding budget expectations by researching the area or consulting with your wedding planner. Read up on why it’s important to book your wedding planner first here!

Whether you’re just recently engaged or already immersed in planning, this is our basic rule of thumb: 40-50% of your budget will be going to the venue, food, and beverage. Big ticket items (location, catering, alcohol and other necessary rentals, such as tables, chairs and silverware) are going to take up the largest chunk of the budget. Some couples will go ahead and include the cake budget within this 50% realm as well.

Going venue shopping with this information beforehand allows you to weed out the venues out of your budget.

Look forward to the next installation of our wedding budget series!

A Luxe K-Drama Wedding Ceremony & C-Drama “Shanghai Nights” Lunar New Year Reception
about 2 weeks ago

A sparkling K-drama inspired ceremony bathed in golden hour light gave way to a Shanghai Nights reception straight out of Crazy Rich Asians. Crystal chandeliers shimmered above lush blooms, a Chinese apothecary escort wall honored tradition, and lion dancers welcomed guests into a haze-filled celebration of culture and class. From a custom dragon lantern shipped from China to a bespoke Hong Kong–inspired bar and Double Happiness wedding cake, every detail was an immersive tribute to heritage — perfectly timed for Lunar New Year.
