3 Tips for Your First Venue Site Tour

February 28, 2022 Christine S. Chang

So you're engaged. You researched some wedding venues and narrowed the list down to a few of your potential favorites. What's next? Visiting the actual site so you can see exactly what it's like. Here are some tips to help you on your site tours!

1. Walk the flow of the wedding as a guest, from start to finish.

Begin at the parking valet then head over to the ceremony, to the cocktail area, to the reception, and finally to the exit!

2. Walk the flow of the wedding as a vendor.

Know where everything is going to get set up beforehand to make sure there is enough space. Look for where the bar is going to go along with the catering stations. How will the table floor plan be? Where can the DJ set up and is there an electrical outlet?

3. Take a million photos.

In order to get an actual picture of how things will look on the day of the wedding, make sure to photograph the key spaces such as the ceremony site.
