Like many couples living in the city, Billie + Armani went for the hotel option as their venue of choice to host their intimate rooftop wedding in Downtown Los Angeles. If you’re looking for inspiration on how to throw a COVID-conscious wedding within city limits, keep scrolling to see how this bride and groom maneuvered their intimate wedding without sacrificing the urban backdrop of DTLA.

Maybe it has to something to do with being up in the air, but rooftops just seem to make everything more romantic. I particularly found their First Look series particularly endearing with the view of the city in the background. Is anyone else getting ending scene 007 vibes, or is it just me?
Another plus of staying close by the city center is that it minimizes the amount of travel for many of the wedding party guests and simultaneously allows social distancing in an open-air environment.
A potential con to keep in mind when planning a rooftop wedding would have to be that you will be submitting to the mercy of Mother Nature and her whimsical moods. Luckily for us, Los Angeles is known to be sunny and clear for most of the year like it was on this day. It could also be a good idea to consider the timing of the event to avoid wedding guests fainting from heat stroke, or even setting up a canopy.
Another creative solution would be to hold the ceremony outdoors and the reception in an indoor setting like Billie and Armani.
Be sure to weigh all of the factors when making a decision about your rooftop wedding. Whether it’s venue, weather, lighting or space concerns, it’s safest to have a plan for every possible outcome, which is what your planner prepares for! Having an exit strategy for every situation will definitely help calm your nerves on your special day which your planner should have prepared in advance.
