There was only one reason why I planned a simple wedding in Downtown Los Angeles. As a planner, I was used to seeing all the bells and whistles and I wanted it all! My personal pinterest board was a mash up of so many different types of weddings from years of being in the business. How was it that when it came time to plan someone else’s wedding, I was so clear on their vision and executed without a hiccup, but when it came to mine, I was a hot mess?

So I sat down with my then fiance and asked him what was the most important thing to him for this wedding. He said one word. You. (WHOA OK! MIND-BLOWN) And I thought? WHAT? How can you not even have one thought or opinion on how this wedding was going to be? So I took the rest of the evening off from pinning and reflected.

The next morning I woke up to a “A HAH!” moment. I had dreamt of our wedding and all I remembered was my friends and families faces. I couldn’t recall the florals or the table setting decor. Heck, I couldn’t even remember what type of dress I was wearing. And so I made a decision to strip my wedding vision down to the bones and make it as simple as possible. I wasn’t going to focus on the details that I usually obsess about and just keep it light where I can focus on just spending a good time with my tribe. And with that said, a few images of our nuptial that was focused on us.
