What To Do After Getting Engaged!

So you got engaged over the holidays, now what? There are so many things to think about, so many people to contact, and so much to get done! Here are a couple key steps to take after the big day.

  • Tell your friends and family

While it might seem obvious, it's easy to get caught up in the excitement of a proposal that you forget to tell all the people close to you. Soak in all the excitement with plenty of phone calls, FaceTimes, and surprise text messages! Chances are, your mom and dad already know what's up and have been waiting by the phone for your call.

  • Get your ring sized

Make sure that ring doesn't fall off your finger by getting it correctly sized by a professional, if it isn't already. Plus this will ensure that you wont run into the issue later!

  • Find a planner

If you're considering bringing a professional planner on board to help with logistics, ask around for references or do a little online research, then set up some interviews! The sooner you get a planner on board the more they are able to help.

  • Pick a date

You'll want to pick a date as soon as possible, to ensure you get everything (and everyone!) you want for your big day. Your date can also play a role in what type of wedding you have, depending on the season!

  • Tour venues

That last thing you want is your dream venue booking up before you were able to snag it for your date, so the moment you know what you want - BOOK! Make sure you plan plenty of tours and have options as well.

  • Get inspired

Save photos on Instagram, make a Pinterest board, or create a folder on your computer to keep images of your favorite wedding elements. Share with your wedding planner, friends, fiancé, and whoever else to view and contribute.
